He makes romantic gestures.
My husband has been at a conference all week, learning new and exciting things to torture... er, help, his athletes improve their performances, and I have missed him terribly. Nonetheless, I've carried on (woe-is-me hand to forehead). I haven't been feeling well the last couple of days, but I've tried to keep my chin up. Because not feeling well, plus missing your hubby, is just sad.
So this morning, as I was talking with him on the phone, he said, "did you get the gift I sent you?" and I thought he said "gif" because I'd just sent him one through text.
So, I said, "No, I didn't, but I'll check my phone now." There was a brief silence before he figured out that I'd heard him wrong. "No, sweatheart." he chuckled softly, "the gifT, I sent you. Go to the front door."
I quickly pulled on my robe and made my way to the front door, where these were waiting for me.
I bit my lip to keep from crying, because this gesture was so special, but as he told me how he knew this week had been hard for me, and he wanted to brighten my day, I couldn't help the one or two tears that slipped down my cheek.
I really do have the most amazing husband. One of my friends said it best when she told me, "you won in the husband department."
Yes, Yes, I did.
